THE AUTOLAB Batch ‘99 continued their dominance of Division B as they pocketed their third win in a row after destroying Batch ‘92, 68-31, in the PLDT SME Nation – Alfredo Gothong 21ST SHAABAA Cup Basketball Tournament last weekend at the Ateneo de Cebu Lux Oriens Gym in Canduman, Mandaue City.
A 29-7 start was all AutoLAB needed to set the tone of the one-sided match. In the end, Jeremy Huang tallied 14, Mark Tam piled on 13 while Merrick Goho scored 11 to score the 37-point victory.
Batch ‘92 fell to 0-3 and into a four-way tie at the bottom of the standings with Chick@Phil ‘89, Batch ‘93 and Ngohiong Batch ‘94.
Dynacast handed GEF Incorporated ‘98 their first loss after defeating them, 50-39.
Mark Hing had 10 points in the win, the team’s third in a row to tie AutoLAB and Batch ‘97 at the top.
Batch ‘97 crushed Ngohiong Batch ‘94, 80-43, as Mark Guanzon top-scored with 13 while Mikel Sala added 12. Cecilio Gillamac also scored 10 in the lopsided win.
Batch ‘98, meanwhile, dropped to 2-1 and into a four-way logjam for second place with White Gold Club ‘96, Core Pacific 2000 and Choobi Bay Crab and Shrimp ‘91.
White Gold Club ‘96 beat the Chick@Phil ‘89, 61-44, behind Alan Choachuy’s 17 and Roderick Uy’s 14. Core Pacific 2000 bested Batch ‘95, 48-38, while Choobi Bay Crab and Shrimp routed Batch ‘93, 63-39.
In Division C, Gateway ‘07 pushed their record to 4-0 with a close 68-64 win over Batch ‘94.
