EVERYONE is hooked on the augmented-reality mobile game app Pokémon Go that even local and international celebrities have already began actively hunting pokémon to become a master trainer.

In a recent episode of GMA Network’s weekend magazine show, “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” last Sunday, the game got featured along with celebrity bloggers Laureen Uy and Alodia Gosiengfiao, who were invited to talk about their favorite Pokémon creature and adventure.

“Aside from the fact na makukulay sila at saka cute talaga sila, it’s the memories para sa akin yung pinaka-importante kasi naalala mo lahat tapos ngayon na nasa cellphone na siya, siyempre lahat ng tao may hawak nang cellphone. So feeling ko nagkakagulo sila kasi naalala nila lahat ng memories nila noong bata pa sila,” shared Laureen during the episode.

The Filipina blogger explained that the app brought back the childhood television series Pokémon craze. During one of the interviews on the show, Laureen was asked by Jessica what her favorite Pokémon is, while looking at stuffed toys in Japan.

The celebrity fashion blogger later named Bulbasaur though she was not sure if it was a water pokemon.

“Water siya, ‘no? Water Pokémon,” Laureen said.

Her comment garnered tons of negative remarks on social media, especially from hardcore Pokémon fans.

Pinoy netizens clarified that Bulbasaur is not a Water-type Pokémon, and instead is a Grass/Poison-type. A snippet of the video interview became viral on Facebook and has now received over 750,000 views, as of writing.

She later tweeted admitting her mistake.

“Grass type si Bulbasaur kasi! Bakit ko ba sinabi yun. I feel like I need to apologize to all Pokémon fans for what I have said. Sorry po nataranta lang,” Laureen said and added a hashtag #grasstypeposibulbasaur.
