Drug suspect dies in police shootout in Mandaue

A man died in a shootout with police during a buy bust operation in Sitio Latasan, Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City at past 7 p.m. last Tuesday.

Ariel Borbon, a 31-year-old resident of the area, was on the narcotics watchlist of the Mandaue City police.

Senior Supt. Roberto Alanas, Mandaue City police chief, said Borbon surrendered during their Oplan TokHang yet continued to sell drugs based on their surveillance and monitoring.
