Capitol purchases speedboats for anti-illegal fishing and emergency response

The Cebu Provincial Government has acquired two brand new speedboats worth P3.5 million each.

According to Julius Regner, information officer of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), one speedboat will be used by their office for emergencies going to and from islands like Camotes and Bantayan.

The other one, he said, will be given to the Cebu Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force (CPAIFTF) for their operations.

The budget for both speedboats was taken from the PDRRMO’s funds in 2015.
