THE THREE-TIME defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles will try to get back into the groove of things when they take on the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors in the 16th Cesafi juniors basketball tournament today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Still smarting from the wounds inflicted by the University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters in their 55-62 loss last Tuesday, the Magis Eagles are expected to come out with vigor and focus and get back the edge that have made them this decade’s most successful high school basketball squad in the league.

Reigning MVP Jed Colonia, Errol Pastor, Patrick Yu and Andrew Velasco are all tipped to lead the Magis Eagles, who currently sport a 2-1 (win-loss) record.

On the other side of the fence, the Baby Warriors face the tall order of claiming their first win of the season, especially after getting blown out in their last game against the Cebu Eastern College (CEC), 53-74.

In other matches in high school action, those very same Dragons will battle the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars while the unbeaten Don Bosco Greywolves put their clean slate on the line against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers.

The lone college game on tap today will feature the UC Webmasters and the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats.
