Don Bosco shoots for fifth straight win, faces SWU Baby Cobras in Cesafi juniors hoops

Games today:
Cebu Coliseum

5 p.m. – SWU vs Don Bosco (juniors)
6:30 p.m. – USC vs CIT-U (seniors)

The Don Bosco Greywolves will try to keep their perfect record as they take on the new kids on the block, the Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Baby Cobras today in the 16th Cesafi juniors basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

After years of mediocrity, the Greywolves have suddenly grown both bite and bark to remain as the only unbeaten team left in the high school competition at 4-0 (win-loss).

Largely responsible for the turnaround is the play of lead guard JB Damolo, forwards Miguel dela Torre and Al Mendez, and Grenal Malubay, who scored 21 points in their victory against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) last weekend.

Up against them is a SWU squad that is also coming off a win – a 70-58 conquest of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens that bumped its record to 2-1.

Jun Baculio will be a marked man in today’s match, especially after torching CIT-U for 25 points in that win.

In college action, the defending champions University of San Carlos Warriors (1-1) gun for their second win in a row when they battle the hapless CIT-U Wildcats (0-4).
