Regional police chief warns those who threatened Danao police

THE chief of the Police Regional Office challenged those who threatened the Danao City police and an anti-drug abuse chief to face him instead.

“Kung sino yung nagte-threaten, ako nalang ang harapin nila. Ako ang regional director dito, ako ang a-ako lahat ng threat na yan at magharap-harap na kami, di ba? (Whoever is sending threats must face me instead. I am the regional director here, and I will take upon me all those threats and face all those responsible for these threats),” Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, PRO-7 chief, said in Wednesday’s press conference.

Former Provincial Board (PB) member and now Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) head Carmen Durano-Meca supposedly received text threats along with the Danao City police in the wake of the death of Medz Alvaro, younger brother of detained suspected drug lord Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro.

Taliño said the Regional Public Safety Batallion is now deployed in Danao City to augment the police.
