THE Communicators of the University of the Philippines Cebu won the recently concluded CAMS Got Talent in SM Seaside City Cebu.
The UP Cebu team bagged the championship title in the Dancing category while their team won second place in the Comical Skit category. UP Cebu focused their dance presentation on the social relevance of media and government control.
“We are very happy to bring honor to UP and Mass Communication students. We believe that we can compete everywhere,” Alyana Bacarra, UP Cebu Sayawan team leader.
Roxanne Maria Sy, head of UP Cebu’s comical skit team, said they managed to win second place despite encountering some technical difficulties.
University of San Carlos (USC) and St. Theresa’s College (STC)’s dancers bagged the second and third place while STC and Cebu Normal University bagged first and third place respectively in the comical skit category.
In the singing category, Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U), USC, University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) won the first, second, and third place, respectively.
The judges of the various events were Jonathan Cimafranca of MagTV Na, DJ Kimyat of MOR 97.1 Lupig Sila, Anther Infante, SM Seaside City Cebu Marketing Manager, and Michael Braga, The Freeman Newspaper reporter.
Organized by the Cebu Alliance of Mass Communication Students, it is participated by 10 member communication schools. The event was hosted by Marco Romas, CAMS chairperson, and TV personality Phoebe Fernandez.
