A GUN-FOR-HIRE suspect who was also allegedly involved in selling illegal drugs was shot dead by two unidentified men in Barangay Centro Tulay, Minglanilla town in southern Cebu around 1 a.m. yesterday. Michael Mayola sustained several gunshot wounds in the body.
PO1 Tavern Radiab of Minglanilla Police Station said the victim was walking home from a drinking session when he noticed that the two motorcycle-riding men were tailing him. Mayola ran towards an interior part but was later cornered by the backrider, who shot him several times. Radiab said Mayola did not surrender to Oplan Tokhang despite his alleged involvement in illegal drug trade in the area.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10 p.m. last Tuesday in Barangay Tayud, Liloan, Cebu.
Chief Insp. Franco Rudolf Oriol, who led the operation, said the minor was arrested after handing over a small sachet worth P200 to a police poseur-buyer. Ruel Magdadaro, the subject of the operation, immediately ran after receiving the money, leaving the minor. Confiscated from the minor were five small sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,450.
A 57-year-old farmer who allegedly sidelined as drug pusher was also arrested in separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Tayud.
Confiscated from drug suspect Rodrigo Icot Barrosa were eight small sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,720.
