Two cops to be rewarded

TWO police officers who responded to emergencies last Wednesday will be rewarded, Chief Supt. Noli Taliño said Thursday.

“Yung mga pulis natin na rumeresponde at nakikitaan ng tapang at kagalingan sa pag-enforce nga batas, hindi lalagpas na atin ‘yan. Bibigyan natin sila ng award na nauukol sa kanilang accomplishment (Policemen who respond when the situation calls for it and exercise excellence in enforcing the law shall be given reward for their accomplishment),” said Taliño, Police Regional Office chief.

PO1 Ronnie Gerardino arrested two men for alleged possession of firearms and drugs at the corner of Osmeña Boulevard and Escario street Wednesday morning.

PO1 Gilbert Cabajar of the Regional Safety Public Batallion (RSPB) stopped a motorcycle riding robber by shooting him after the suspect grabbed the bag of a store supervisor in Colon street later that evening.

Taliño said the two policemen will each receive a Medalya ng Kagalingan (Medal of Merit). “Rewarding our policemen is part of boosting their moral welfare,” he said. He said reward money may be given if funds are available.
