ABS-CBN’s Oscar Lopez and GMA-7’s triumvirate Gilberto Duavit, Menardo Jimenez and Felipe Gozon are included in American business magazine Forbes’ new list of 50 richest Filipinos and their families.
According to PEP, Oscar Lopez, chairman emeritus of Lopez Holdings Corporation, is on the 23rd spot. His $940 million net worth is $60 million lower than his 2015 net worth of $1 billion.
The 86-year-old Lopez is the uncle of Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, ABS-CBN’s current chairman.
Meanwhile, GMA Network’s Duavit, Menardo and Felipe have also made it to the shortlist, at 42nd, 43rd and 47th, respectively.
Duavit, the father of current president and COO Gilbert Duavit Jr., is $5 million richer than 84-year-old Jimenez, who has a $180 million net worth.
Meanwhile, the youngest among the GMA’s trio is 76-year-old Gozon, who has a $160 million net worth.
Still holding the number one spot for the country’s richest man is SM Prime Holdings Chairman Henry Sy whose net worth is $13.7 B. At second place is JG Summit Chairman John Gokongwei Jr. ($6.8), while third is the Aboitiz family ($5 B).
