A seminar dubbed “The Process of Building Olympians” which will be held at the City Sports Club Cebu on Sept. 4 is expected to inspire Cebuano sports buffs to pursue their Olympic dreams.
The seminar is organized by the Epic Performance and Fitness and will tackle the sports training programs that are scientifically based and proven to effectively build Olympians. It will mainly focus on encouraging the Cebu sports community to develop the country’s future Olympians through sports science and proper training programs.
Highlighting the one-day seminar will be the presence of Rio Olympics women’s weight lifting silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz and Olympian boxer Charlie Suarez.
“Epic Performance and Fitness is always at the forefront in sports science training program. We continue helping athletes here in Cebu develop their skills and I am very thankful that I was given a chance to showcase these two Olympians (Diaz and Suarez) in the upcoming seminar,” said Epic performance and Fitness program director Pio Solon in yesterday’s launching of the seminar at the Salinas Restaurant of Golden Cowrie in Lahug.
The seminar will also feature the Philippine Olympic team strength and conditioning trainer Jay Fotalano, who will be the speaker for the sports science behind Olympics.
Diaz and Suarez, meanwhile, are expected to share their Rio Olympics experience and training tips to aspiring athletes.
“The attendees will not just gain knowledge about sports science and training program for Olympians in this seminar but also they will learn how to apply this to themselves,” added Solon.
Although this seminar is organized by Solon, he is hoping that the Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Olympic Committee will help him conduct more seminars in the future.
The seminar will start in the morning and will end at 5 p.m. Registration fee is pegged at P1,000 regular fee and P700 for students.
