1 p.m. SHS-AdC vs Don Bosco (Jrs.)
2:30 p.m. CEC vs UV (Jrs.)
4 p.m. USC vs CIT-U (Jrs.)
5:30 p.m. SWU vs UC (Srs.)
The Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras will put their unbeaten record on the line today when they tangle with the up-and-down University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in what is expected to be a spectacular nightcap of today’s quadruple-header in the 16th Cesafi basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.
Tied for the lead, 4–0 (win-loss), with rivals University of the Visayas (UV), SWU seeks to shatter the deadlock and grab hold of the solo lead in the standings.
That feat, though, will be easier said than done as they battle a Webmasters squad that is as unpredictable as they are relentless.
Standing at the middle of the pack at 2–2, the Webmasters are headed to this match with heads held high especially after winning over the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U), 61–52, their first victory over the Wildcats in three years.
But the Cobras will be a tough nut to crack with the presence of two-time league MVP Macmac Tallo and a crew of talented and veteran players led by the likes of John Lloyd Luz, Bernie Bregondo, Ian Ortega and 6-foot-11 center Quintin Nzuzi.
In the juniors division, the league-leading Don Bosco Greywolves’ clean 4–0 record will be thoroughly challenged as they face off against the three-time defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles.
Game time is at 1 p.m. with the Greywolves hoping to keep their magical start to this season going against a Magis Eagles squad that just crippled the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors, 74–27. Ateneo de Cebu is tied for second place with the UC Baby Webmasters and the Cebu Eastern College Dragons at 3–1.
