AROUND a thousand runners are expected to show up in the 11th University Run (UR), which blasts off today at the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) campus at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
The event, which will feature the “Three Bridge Challenge,” serves as the main activity of CDU’s annual intramurals. It is also a fund-raising activity of the Run For Sight Foundation of Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III.
Featured distances are 25-kilometer, 13k, 6k and 3k. Runners in the 25k distance will have to pass through the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, Mandaue-Mactan Bridge and the Cansaga Bridge.
Cash prizes will be given to the winning runners in the 25k and 13k distances, while the top 10 in the 6k and 3k events will receive medals.
There will be separate categories for alumni members, students and faculty members.
