THE state weather bureau yesterday warned that rains would continue to persist in the National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby provinces due to the enhanced southwest moon (habagat).

In its 10 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said light to moderate rains would persist in Metro Manila including the provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan within the next two to three hours.

Several areas in Metro Manila and nearby areas were inundated Friday afternoon until evening because of the incessant rains. Pagasa said typhoon “Dindo” (international name: Lionrock) was on track to leave the Philippine area of responsibility last night.
