Crackdown set on vendors, illegally parked vehicles

LAPU-LAPU City’s streets will be cleared of illegally parked vehicles, ambulant vendors and other obstructions, Mayor Paz Radaza said yesterday.

She said tow trucks will impound illegally parked vehicles in all streets to a vacant space in front of the Fire Department at Hoops Dome. More police personnel will be deputized to issue tickets to violators.

Kinahanglan na gyud nga mapaluagan ang atong kadalanan kay hilabihan na gyud ka traffic (Our streets really need to be cleared as traffic is becoming very bad),” Radaza said.

The mayor said the public market is not spared from the clearing operation as ambulant vendors occupying the sidewalks have aggravated traffic.

Lapu-Lapu City’s campaign against traffic obstructions including undocumented tricycles resulted in the shooting of City Traffic Management System (CTMS) chief Frank Brazil who survived the attack.
