The people in northern Cebu will have more access to supplies of blood once the Philippine Red Cross Bogo City-Northern Cebu branch will rise at the new city hall compound in Bogo City.
Senator Richard Gordon, chairman and chief executive officer of the Philippine Red Cross, led last Friday the groundbreaking ceremony of the new building project, which will be equipped with a blood bank.
“The construction will take six months. The project is worth P13 million,” Gordon said.
The 470 sq.m. building sits on a 1,000 sq.m. lot, which according to a Red Cross statement was donated by the Bogo City government during the time of then Bogo Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr.
Aside from the blood bank, the two-story building will also house the Red Cross offices and training rooms.
Bogo Mayor Carlo Martinez, Vice Mayor Ma. Cielo Martinez and other Bogo City officials were present during the groundbreaking ceremony.
