90 homes under Mactan bridge demolished
THE Lapu-Lapu City government has started demolishing around 90 houses under the first Mandaue-Mactan bridge in Sitio Seaside, Barangay Pajo, yesterday morning. However, there was no resistance from the affected families. The area would be used for the construction of a senior citizen’s park.
Some of the affected families were temporarily relocated to Pajo Gymnasium.
Mayor Paz Radaza said the city will give them financial assistance of P10,000 cash, food packs with 20 kilos of rice good for one week, P1,500 cash from the Department of Public Works and Highways and housing materials.
