Three drug suspects were killed in two separate incidents in Cebu in the last two days.
The first incident happened around 8 p.m. last Friday in Barangay Yati, Liloan town, northern Cebu where two drug surrenderers were gunned down by four unidentified motorcycle-riding men.
Emmanuel Quirol, 39, of Barangay Poblacion and Marlon Magdadaro, 30, of Barangay San Vicente were pronounced dead on arrival at Eversely Hospital in Consolacion town.
They both sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.
PO3 Jason Gayo of Liloan Police Precinct said Quirol was driving a motorcycle heading south with Magdadaro as his backrider. Upon reaching Barangay Yati, four unidentified men who were wearing crash helmets and on board two motorcycles suddenly blocked their path. The two backriders then opened fire at the victims.
Gayo said the victims had already surrendered to the police through Oplan Tokhang last July. Gayo said they are now eyeing the victim’s failure to remit the proceeds of illegal drug trade as motive for the killing.
In Lapu-Lapu City, a 39-year-old suspected drug pusher was found dead in a secluded area in Sitio Guisi, Barangay Agus, yesterday morning. Arnel Ontong, a resident of Ompad Compound in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City, sustained several gunshot wounds in the head and body.
PO2 Jose Ruel Cutanda of the Homicide Section revealed that a resident discovered the body lying on the ground around 6 a.m. yesterday. Cutanda said he heard from bystanders in the area that the victim was a drug pusher and was known for adding salt into the so-called shabu to add more weight.
Joy Ontong, the sister of the victim, also revealed that her brother was out on bail for illegal possession of a firearm back in 2013.
