Cops nab woman, seize P2.7M worth of suspected shabu

POLICE confiscated another P2.7 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a 39-year-old woman during a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City.

Ivy Estardo Datig, 39, was arrested after she handed packs of suspected shabu to an undercover member of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas at the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

Supt. Fermin Armendarez, CIDG-7 deputy chief, said that they planned the entrapment operation after receiving information about Datig’s involvement in illegal drugs.

Armendarez, who led the operation, said they moved in after Datig handed over the drugs and the marked money from the undercover police officer was handed over to her.

Datig’s companion, who was the driver of the motorcycle, escaped.

Armendarez said that Datig identified the driver as Junior Tampus.

He said that Datig, who is a Lapu-Lapu City resident and a mother of nine children, claimed that she was a drug runner of Junior.

A follow – up operation was conducted to arrest Junior but it failed .

Armendarez, however, said both Junior and Datig would still be charged with selling illegal drugs.
