Pagasa Visayas director Oscar Tabada said mild to moderate raining will be affecting Cebu and other parts of the Visayas until Monday as a result of the Low Pressure Area (LPA)now located near about 40 kilometers west of Lumbia in Cagayan de Oro City.
But he said there is very little possibility that the LPA would develop into a tropical depression.
“Ang ato lang ani kay mahimong uwanon ang tibuok semana (Our only concern is that we will remain wet for the rest of the week),” he said.
Tabada is asking local disaster groups to be on alert in case of eventualities that may result from the raining.
He said that waves are expected to remain light to moderate.
“Dili dagku ang bawd kay hinay ra man ang hangin (Waves are not that big because of minimal wind blows),” he said.
Cebu Coast Guard Station Commander Agapito Bibat said sea travel will remain normal in the absence of any gale warning.
But he said ship captains have the option to decide to suspend their sea travel if they fell that it would be risky on their passengers.
