Hontiveros bats for accessible, responsive health care

SEN. Risa Hontiveros said the country’s health system must be accessible and responsive to the public’s welfare especially the poor and indigenous people.

In a speech during the fifth Association of Phil. Medical Colleges-Student Network (AMPC-SN) Regional Convention which commenced this morning at Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU), Sen. Hontiveros also said local governments should help localize the country’s health agenda.

They can do this by improving health infrastructure in every barangay along with capacity-building among barangay health workers.
