CEBUANO mountainbike daredevil Jun Duron bucked a flat tire in the final round of the downhill section yesterday to salvage a bronze medal in the second leg of the 2016 Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) Series in Timor Leste.
The Talisay City-native Duron who placed second overall n the past two ASIAN MTB Series, clocked 40 minutes and eight seconds, just two minutes and 21 seconds behind leg winner Sharin Amir who timed 37:46.99.
Despite the loss, Duron remaains the current leader of the Asian MTB Series with 34 points while Indonesia’s Kusnadi Adi is a close second with 32 points.
Duron hopes to finally grab that elusive gold medal when he competes in the third leg of the series on October 16 in Indonesia.
