The US Embassy in Manila will continue to work in the Philippines despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s statement on American troops to leave Mindanao.
Molly Koscina, Press Attaché of the US Embassy in Manila said they will continue to focus their broad relationship with the Philippines.
“We have not officially contacted by the Philippine authority regarding President Duterte’s statements,” Koscina told reporters Tuesday morning at the US Embassy in Manila.
Koscina said they will continue to work together in many areas on mutual interest like the two-day disaster preparedness regional media seminar joined by some members of the media across the country which ends today.
Their areas of interest also includes counter terrorism and for improvement of lives of the Filipino people and to uphold democratic values.
“Our lines is one of the most enduring and important relationships in Asia Pacific. It’s been in the cornerstone of stability for 70 years. It is build on shared sacrifices for the democracy, human rights and build strong people and people ties,” she said.
