Habal driver shot down while sleeping at home

A DRUG surrenderer was gunned down while sleeping inside his family home in Sitio Candayang, Barangay Poblacion Occidental in Consolacion town at 3 am Wednesday.

PO1 Raymond Lleve of the Consolacion police precinct identified the 38-year-old casualty as Eric Sanchez, a motorcycle-for-hire (habal-habal) driver. He lived in the home where his parents died while his siblings lived in their own homes. An unidentified gunman barged into his house and shot Sanchez several times then walked away.

The area is inaccessible to motorcycles. Sanchez was a drug dependent who surrendered to police during their Oplan TokHang.

It was not known if he resumed using drugs or sold drugs.
