Carcar cops kill man linked to enforcer’s death

ONE of the suspects in the killing of a traffic enforcer in Carcar City was shot dead by arresting policemen in Barangay Valencia at 5:30 a.m. yesterday.

The suspect identified by police as Bimboy Siducas, allegedly tried to throw a hand grenade to the operatives, prompting them to shoot him, said Chief Insp. Jose Liddawa, Carcar Police Station chief.

“The operatives were forced to neutralize the suspect in order to defend themselves,” said Liddawa in his report submitted to the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).

Police rushed Liddawa to the hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Liddawa also claimed that Siducas was allegedly a gun-for-hire and drug personality in Carcar City.

Police recovered a hand grenade, a .45 caliber pistol, small plastic packs of suspected shabu from the dead suspect.

Liddawa also said that they also recovered a motorcycle, which Liddawa identified as the motorcycle used allegedly as the getaway vehicle in the killing of traffic enforcer Maximo Bustamante last Monday.

Bustamante, 58, was driving his motorcycle on his way home when two persons on board a motorcycle drove by him.

The motorcycle’s back passenger then pulled out a .45 pistol and fired at Bustamante several times, killing him.
