Consuls’ Night at The Waterfront

IT WAS Consuls’ Night at the Treff Bar of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino with general manager Anders Hallden as the perfect host.

The event coincided with Seafood Night at Treff, which accounted for the 38-kilo whole Tuna Fish being carved into morsels for sashimi, and other delights that included perfectly merinated salmon.

Although Mr. Hallden doesn’t need an introduction, tasked with the formality was Bea Evardone, the hotel’s E-Marketing specialist. He had a warm welcome for all.

“This is our first Consuls’ Night,” he said, “And more are forthcoming. The next one will be in a place you can’t imagine, but we’ll keep that a secret for now.”

One can hardly wait, and the suspense can be enticing. From the Cebu Consular Corps present were the following: Korean Consul General Oh Sung-yong, Consul of Japan Masaki Hirasawa; honorary consuls Franz Seidenschwarz of Germany, Armi Garcia of Russia, Antonio Chiu of Slovakia, Sammy Chioson of Portugal, Emily Chioson of Israel; and US consular agent Glenn Loop with his wife Honey Jarque Loop.

Waterfront top echelon included sales manager Gayle Moro Luayon, sales assistant manager Joan Cabarrubias, marketing communications manager

Arnel Aparis, his assistant Karen Hassim, and executive chef Linda Hou.

Dr. Vivina Chiu Yrastorza was there with Dennis Florencio, operations manager of Westmont Unilab. Also present were Janice and Gerald Yuvallos, and Scarlet Comendador, Masterchef Republic national sales manager.

From the press had come Dr. Nestor Alonso, Chinggay Utzurrum, Flor Ynclino, Cookie Newman, Richard Ramos, Emma Villarente and Pia Seno.
