A MAN identified only by his tattoo “Jackie Diaz” was ambushed by an unknown assailant in Katipunan, Labangon Tuesday dawn.
Police said the suspect was waiting for the victim to pass by in a dimly lit area and shot him at the back. Recovered from the site were empty and a backpack that contained ammunition and a KG9 firearm.
Senior Insp. Manuel Cañete of the Cebu City Police Office’s homicide division said a witness, who refused to be identified, saw the victim grab a gun from his backpack and tried to fire back but his gun malfunctioned.
