1999rs, 2011 Elevens force do-or-die games

THE 1999RS and the 2011 Elevens refused to go quietly into the night as they pushed their respective championship affairs to a winner-take-all Game Three after defeating their opponents in the 2016 University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference President’s Cup, last weekend at the USC North Campus gym.

The 1999rs kept their championship hopes alive in Division two after besting the 2002 Lions, 75–73.

Michael Alcarde proved defiant with his team’s back against the wall as he scored 25 points while Joseph Bragat and Fritz Villamor added 13 apiece to withstand another outstanding effort by the Lions’ Enrico Llanto, who tallied 31 points, after scoring 36 in the opening game of the series.

In Division three, the Elevens hacked out a 71-62 win over the defending champions, 2008 Flyboys, to tie the series up at 1-1.

Anthony Romaguerra led the Elevens in scoring with 19 while Prince Malana added 17.

The deciding Game Threes will be played on Oct. 1 at the same venue.
