Misting in Consolacion after dengue death

THE Cebu Provincial Health Office (CPHO) sent a team to Consolacion town to do a massive misting after a three-year-old boy from Barangay Nangka died of dengue last September 10.

CPHO head Dr. Rene Catan said the three-year-old boy was the latest fatality from dengue in Cebu Province.

The three-year-old boy was among the 67 fatalities from dengue since January.

Based on the reports of the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (Resu), dengue cases in Central Visayas posted a dramatic increase with 14,846 compared to last year’s 6,420 cases.

There were 125 deaths from January 1 to September 24 this year, compared to 36 last year. Sixty-seven of the fatalities were from Cebu.
