THE Cesafi track and field competition will kick off today at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The competition will last until Sunday.
Today’s competition will start 6 a.m. with the 3,000-meter steeple chase. Next will be the 3,000m run, 5k walk, shot put and high jump events, respectively.
Other events to be played today are the 110m hurdles, 400m run, discus throw, long jump, 400m hurdles, 200m run, 1,500m run and the 10k run.
On Sunday, events to be played will be the 5,000m run, javelin throw, triple jump, 800m run, 100m run, 4x100m and 400m relays and the 10k walkathon.
Competing today are athletes from high school and college.
The defending champions in the high school division are the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in the girls division and University of Cebu (UC) in the boys division.
UC is the reigning men’s champion while the University of San Carlos is the defending women’s champion.
