Home Chef Competition at 8th CEFBEX


THE comeback of the Cebu’s most anticipated food exposition – 8TH CEFBEX, takes everyone on a one-of- a-kind journey to discover the region’s culinary heritage. Happening on October 13 to 16, from 10AM to 8PM at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall. Slated to become its most epic edition yet, CEFBEX is more than thrilled to host the first-ever CEFBEX Culinary Cup: Home Chef edition.

A culinary competition for non-professional home cooks across Cebu, this event highlight ultimately aims not only to recognize homegrown amateur talents but more importantly, to innovate the flavors catered to the Southern palate.

Open to all residents of Cebu, between 25 to 40 years of age, participants must have no prior professional or formal catering or culinary experience. Other than that, all they need to submit is an accomplished form with a 2×2 picture (which may be downloaded from facebook.com/wsifanpage), barangay clearance, NSO certified Birth Certificate, written unique story copy behind your recipe with a minimum of 100 words and maximum of 150 words, and one whole body picture. During the cook-off, participants should finish their dish within 30 minutes. The dishes will then be assessed based on originality and creativity, taste, presentation, and food handling. Grand prize winner will get PHP30,000 plus a short culinary course and gift packs.
