Cebu Gov. Hilario Davie III called on critics to attend the upcoming pre-bidding of the purchase of heavy equipment worth P250 million next week.

Naa napud magsamok-samok. Moana na pud nga naa napud personal interest. Moingon gipadaog sa BAC, gilabanan ni Davide kay amigo, amigo ni (Provincial Administrator Mark) Tolentino. (There would be someone who will criticize, who will claim that there was personal interest and that they were favored to win by the Bids and Awards Committee, that it was favored by Davide because they were friends with Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino. That’s very frustrating,” Davide said.
He said the province had long planned to buy heavy equipment for the development of Cebu.

Last month, an unknown letter surfaced questioning the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) why it declared as winning bidder AS Enriquez Engineering Consultancy for the proposed 12-story Capitol building.

Enriquez will receive the P57 million for the feasibility study, detailed architecture and engineering design and construction supervision of the 12-story building on the area where the condemned Baex building is located.

Davide said his critics kept claiming that there were irregularities during biddings of the provincial government.

“I’m inviting all the critics (Broadcaster Bobby) Nalzaro, (businessman Cris) Saavedra and everybody (to attend the bidding). Sige pangataki (They keep on attacking) how we run the province,” Davide said.

He said the BAC followed the correct procedure and checked the background of bidders.

Davide said maybe there is someone who wants to sabotage the bidding which is why they kept on criticizing the bidding and the BAC.
