THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) conducted an audit of its equipment and resources in dealing with emergency cases caused by natural and man-made calamities.
Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, PRO-7 director for operations, said the audit results will be consolidated and sent to Camp Crame for evaluation.
“We will determine what else we need in terms of human resources, logistics, and training. We want to fill in these gaps so we can respond accordingly,” he said.
Among the equipment PRO-7 needs include rubber boats for intense flooding and generator sets.
“Although we still need some equipment, I must say that we are nonetheless prepared to respond to any call for assistance. We’re not 100 percent ready, but we can already respond,” Lawas said.
The audit of existing equipment for disaster response operations was also done by other police regional offices in the country.
