For the second straight year, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles and the University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters will be meeting in the biggest stage as they forced a title rematch in the 2016 Cesafi juniors basketball tournament.

The two teams chalked up crucial wins last night at the Cebu Coliseum with the Magis Eagles dumping the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers, 73–59, and the Baby Webmasters trashing the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons, 61–45.

It was a tight race to the finals as the Magis Eagles, the Baby Lancers and the Baby Webmasters all ended the single round-robin semifinal phase with a 2-1 (win-loss) records.

SHS-AdC, a three-time defending champion, and UC went on to clinch the championship seats owing to their superior goal difference.

In the point system computation, SHS-AdC wound up with +9 goal difference, UC with 0, while UV was -9.

The Baby Lancers will settle for battle-for-third place against the Dragons, who went 0-3 in the semis.

The championship round will start on Friday at the same venue.

The Magis Eagles leaned on the solid outing of Jed Cedrick Colonia, who piled up 23 points, five assists, two steals and a block.

UV was led by Froiland Maglasang, who came away with 18 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Luigi Konrad Gabisan, on the other hand, led the way for the Baby Webmasters with 20 points, four rebounds, one steal and 1 blocked shot.

James Daniel Temprapaced the Dragons with nine nine points, nine rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
