The Department of Interior and Local Government issued an advisory to the public warning against a scam on soliciting nominees for Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Punong Barangay or Barangay Chairman.
The DILG said they received reports that certain persons are soliciting nominations and nominees to be appointed as barangay chairpersons through text messages.
The advisory signed by DILG secretary Ismael D. Sueno called on local governments to notify the public on the scam.
