SEVERAL students of the University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) walked out of their classes to hold a march rally against the recently implemented facility rental fees, the university-wide Socialized Tuition System (STS) and Student Assistant Information System (SAIS).
The rally was spearheaded by militant student groups who persuaded students to walk out of their classes to join the protest against the “exorbitant” rental fees of the school’s facilities.
The militant student groups also barged inside UP Cebu’s Performance Arts Hall where the livestreaming of the UP President Selection was held.
Unofficial reports stated that a faculty member was nearly injured as soon as the students marched inside while several faculty members also joined the walkout.
