Applications for Digital Arts Awards to begin next week

THE National Digital Arts Awards 2017 (NDAA 2017) is looking for young Filipinos who have a passion for digital art as it launched last Friday its awareness campaign in the Visayas, with this year’s theme “#changeisherenow.”

Now on its fourth year, the annual awards aim to recognize young Filipinos who excel in digital arts and provide them an avenue to begin a career in digital arts.

Nato Agbayani, founder and CEO of Brand Guerrilla PH and organizer of the awards, said they started the contest in 2012 and officially launched it in 2013.

“We wanted to gather people who are good in digital arts – animation, print, and digital graphics,” he said.

“We got them together and formally, we were able to launch it in 2013. Now, we are reaching out. We want this to be the most inclusive NDAA ever.”

For this year, NDAA hopes to gather the best and the brightest young digital artists nationwide in their most inclusive and empowering contest to date as it will go around colleges and universities all over the country to promote the event.

As part of their advocacy, they will also be conducting talks on digital arts and game development for students as they go around the country in their awareness campaign.

Agbayani explained that the awards started out as a branded corporate awards and eventually shifted to an independent consortium, with this year’s partners including Globaltronics, Inc., Brand Guerilla PH, and PR Works.

With three categories namely print, motion graphics, and digital games, the contest’s call for entries will start on October 27, 2016 and end on January 31, 2017.

Contest mechanics will be announced through NDAA 2017’s Facebook page.

The awarding ceremony is tentatively scheduled in April or May next year.
