The first unit of the Honda BR-V mini sports utility vehicle arrived at the Honda Cars Cebu, Inc. dealership along A. Soriano Avenue at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City on Wednesday afternoon.
The BR-V is the latest addition to the Honda family in the country. It is a seven-seater vehicle that has a high ground clearance, which makes it similar to its sibling, the Honda Mobilio, only with more advanced features.
Cebu Daily News was given a chance to take it for a spin before it was displayed. The BR-V’s exterior design is inspired by the “Active-Solid Motion” concept while the interior embodies the “Premium and Active” concept.
Under the hood of the BR-V is a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum of 120 horsepower and 14.8 kg-m of torque. The engine is mated to an Earth Dreams Technology Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Two variants will be available for the BR-V—the 1.5 V Navi CVT and the 1.5 S CVT.
Honda Cars Cebu is accepting reservations while deliveries are expected to start in December. No official pricing was released yet but Honda officials said the BR-V’s price may start from just over a million.
