Police nab mom, son, 13 others in separate anti-drug operations

POLICE arrested a mother and his son in a buy-bust operation yesterday in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town in northern Cebu.
SPO2 Francisco Perez Jr. of Consolacion police station said that they arrested Jocelyn Alivio ,47, of Barangay Pulpogan, and his son, Christopher Alivio, 24,  allegedly handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.
Perez said Rudy Capangpangan, 47, Alivio’s live-in partner and the father of Christopher, however, escaped when he sensed the police officers closing in on them.
Six sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects, who were detained at the Consolacion police station pending the filing of charges.
On Friday in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, police arrested three suspected drug pushers and 10 others suspected drug users during two buy-bust operations done 15 minutes apart in Sitio Laray.
Senior Supt. Joel Doria, Cebu City Police Office chief, said the three suspects – Joji Abella, Bobby Escobal, and Albert Villas – would be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly for peddling illegal drugs.
At 11:40 a.m., police arrested Escobal during a buy-bust operation together with eight other persons.
At 11:55 a.m., police conducted another buy-bust operation in the area and arrested Abella and Villas.
