Sharks nip Falcons in Elite hoop

THE Sharks handed the Falcons their first loss in the seventh season of the Elite Basketball Club Cebu via an 86–83 overtime decision last Friday at the Visayan Glass Gym in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

The Falcons thus tied the Sharks at the top of the standings with identical 5-1 (win-loss) slates.

Niño Belande led the Sharks with a game-high 27 points, while James Cabilino tallied 21 markers.

Jokjok Canceko paced the Falcons with 20 points.

In the second game, the Panthers drubbed the Wolves, 73–63.

Former Southwestern University skipper Mark Panerio led the Panthers with 15 points, while Neil Buot added 13.

The Panthers improved to 4-2.

Last Sunday, Armando de Jesus exploded for 38 points to help the Rams score an 81–58 win over the Eagles.

The Stallions on the other hand, chalked up their first win of the season after beating the Seahawks 95–88.

Prince Malana powered the Stallions with 30 points. He was backed by Malvin Malicdem, who scored 20.
