FORMER reel and real-life lovers Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, known at the height of their love team’s popularity as Kimerald, are reuniting for a primetime teleserye.

This was revealed by Dreamscape Entertainment Monday afternoon in a special press conference for upcoming Kapamilya series, “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.” The
teleserye will be directed by Dan Villegas.

An ABS-CBN report said the series follows the story of three spirited triathletes from different socio-economic backgrounds tangled in a “love triangle and a race for success in the sport.”

Aside from Kim and Gerald, the series will also star Jake Cuenca, Coleen Garcia, Bing Loyzaga, Ayen Munji-Laurel and Helen Gamboa-Sotto.

The target date for the release of the primetime series has yet to be announced.

Kim and Gerald were batchmates in the first edition of “Pinoy Big Brother Teens” in 2006. Their tandem developed inside the big yellow house. Kim came out as the
winner during the big night while Gerald, placed third.

After “PBB,” the Kimerald tandem continued to flourish as they starred in several television and movie projects. They eventually became a couple.

In 2010, Kimerald starred in the movie “Till My Heartaches End,” which premiered a few months after they announced their break-up. They last reunited in 2012 for Star Cinema’s “24/7 in Love.”

The reunion of the former couple created a buzz on Twitter with the hashtag #KimeraldIsBack.

Most of the fans became nostalgic as they recounted the times the love team made them fall in love while watching them on the big screen or on TV.
