Star power in Sinulog

Celebrities from tinseltown added glitz to the Sinulog as talents from the country’s rival broadcast networks joined the festivities yesterday.

Fans shrieked – with some even blocking the way of the floats – while others whipped out their cameraphones and clicked away as Kapamilya princess and Cebuana actress Kim Chiu,

Kapatid network resident crooner Ogie Alcasid and the Kapuso network’s biggest star Marian Rivera emerged in the grand parade.

Kim was the attention magnet of the Titay’s Rosquillos float while Ogie was joined by Empress Schuck in the Lhuiller float.

Marian was with Alden Richards as they capitalized on the Sinulog to promote their new teleserye ‘Carmela’.

Kapamilya actor J.C. de Vera took selfies of him with his fans.

The Kapamilya float also featured John Lloyd Cruz, Maja Salvador, Richard “Sir Chief” Yap and Jodie Sta. Maria.

WILD ATTRACTIONS

Meanwhile, a selfie with a Siberian tiger and an albino python is not the usual thing one expects to include in his “to-do” list in the Sinulog.

A big crowd gathered infront of a hotel along Osmena Boulevard which made the once in a lifetime photo opportunity their main attraction for this year’s feast of the Senor Sto. Nino.

For P150, an individual or a group could have their pictures taken with tiger on the foreground and/or with the python draped on one’s shoulders.

“It’s very exciting and scary because the tiger might get up,” said Anna Alnaz who was among who queued up for the photo-op. The animals are owned by the hotel’s owner.
