The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers ended their eight-year title drought as they defeated the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors, 27-25, 25-19, 27-25, in Game 3 of the finals to bag the title in the Cesafi boys’ volleyball tournament Sunday afternoon at USC Main gym.

USPF, which last won the title in 2008, had to overcome a 0-1 series deficit against the Baby Warriors before winning the title via a game-winning block by Alechan Absuelo on 2015 MVP Gwyn Dharell Guy.

Absuelo, who was named best blocker of the tournament, was joined by teammates Pol Salvador, who won the MVP and Best Server plums, and Ruel Sarnejo, who clinched the Best setter award, in the mythical team.

Other awardees were USC’s Gwyn Dharell Guy (Attacker) and Mitch Suba (Libero).
