Student leaders who were carefully screened and chosen from universities nationwide will participate in one of the country’s most-anticipated youth conferences —the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS), to be held in Cebu City today until November 5.
The three-day summit provides participants the opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills and management concepts. The program exposes student delegates to the world of business, corporate life, responsibility and nation building.
This year, 91 students (58 from Luzon, 20 from Visayas, and 13 from Mindanao) passed the rigorous AFLBS selection process. This year’s delegates are pursuing degrees in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical), Economics, Finance/Accountancy and Psychology.
With the theme “Filipino Youth, Global Leaders: Driving Business Excellence to Secure a Better World for the Next Generation,” this year’s summit will feature internationally acclaimed and multi-awarded Filipino designer and furniture manufacturer Kenneth Cobonpue as well as Paul Rivera, one of the Philippines’ Top 10 Entrepreneurs and CEO and co-founder of Kalibrr, a fast-growing smart recruitment platform.
Now on its 11th year of building young talented leaders, the AFLBS continues to prepare and empower the youth to be change-makers in their chosen field of profession and in society.
“In its continued efforts to support young Filipinos emerge as leaders in their chosen field, the Aboitiz Group puts a spotlight on this message in its 11th year of engagement with future leaders in business,” said Txabi Aboitiz, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV) chief Human Resource Officer.
During the summit, top Aboitiz executives from the different Aboitiz business units such as Aboitiz Equity Ventures’ Erramon I. Aboitiz and Dmi Lozano, AboitizPower’s Luis Miguel Aboitiz and Manny Rubio, Visayan Electric Company’s Anton Perdices, and UnionBank’s Ana Aboitiz-Delgado, among others, will share their knowledge, experience, and philosophies that reinforce high hopes for this country’s future leaders.
