MILITANT youth groups from across Southeast Asia voiced their condemnation to the extrajudicial killings occurring in the country and called on the Duterte administration to stop it.

Commission on Human Rights (CHR) commissioner Chito Gascon attended the gathering of members of the Chito Gascon (SocDem) in Asia at the Handuraw Pizza outlet in Mango Avenue, Cebu City to support the call.
“A total of 4,737 deaths have already resulted since the beginning of the war against illegal drugs in the country and a significant number of which are not related to illegal drugs. The government should undertake steps to investigate this,” Gascon said.

Gascon also questioned the number of deaths in police operations which police claimed to be “legitimate” because these drug suspects were also armed and resisted arrest.

During the press conference, SocDem also released their manifesto calling on the government to stop the killings.
