More bets enlist for nat’l karatefest

MORE karatekas from around the country have enlisted for the 2nd Hayashiha Shitoryukai National Championships on Nov. 26 to 28 in Dumaguete City.

Organizer Reynante Vidal, instructor of the Visayas of Hayashiha Shitoryuka, said the tournament has already drawn 354 karatekas from 24 karatedo clubs as of this writing.

“We are hoping that this tournament will be successful, considering that respected Hayashi-ha officers from Japan will be conducting a seminar at the same time observe the tournament because they are planning to stage an international tournament next year here in our country,” Vidal said. The three-day tournament will also have a kobudo and kata seminar to be led by international instructors Shihan Kenichiro Nagatomo and Shi han Fumihiro Ando.

The karatedo clubs that have already enlisted in the tournament are Hayashi-ha Insular Square, Hayashi-ha Compostela, Hayashi-ha Camotes Island, Hayashi-ha Dumaguete, Hayashi-ha Bacolod, Hayashi-ha Zamboanguita, Hayashi-ha Bayawan, Hayashi-ha Siaton, Hayashi-ha Siquijor, Hayashi-ha Iloilo, Hayashi-ha Capiz, DepEd Karatedo Team, Kyodokan Cebu, Eskrido Bogo City, Antonio de Padua Danao City Karatedo Team, CTU, Western Iloilo College, Sci-Tech Karatedo Tea, Maria Montessori International School, Shidokan Iloilo, Shorin Commando Bacolod and Renzuko Martial Arts.
