CEBUANO cyclist Jun Duron will have some added motivation heading into today’s third and final final leg of the Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) series in Sarawak, Malaysia.
The 31-year old is in the best position to win the overall title as he is currently taking a precarious two-point lead (34-32) against Indonesia’s Kusnadi Adi.
“Akong goal jud makuha nako ang overall champion sa series. Last chance nani nako kay basin next year dili ko maka kompleto sa series kay daghan na host na lugar basin dili kaya sa plete tanan next year” said Duron.
The Talisay-native Duron said that the race track is now much tougher compared to the previous two legs but he hopes that he can still put up a good performance.
“Lisod kaayo rota diri perting lapoka. Pinaka-worst na race track. Okay lang last two legs kay masakyan ra tanan. Ang third leg kay dili ridedable ang uban section sa race track” said Duron of the
Rapidino Race Team. “Pero another challenge na pod. Sige lang basta ako lang i-enjoy”
Duron will be competing in the men’s Masters A Cross Country Olympic (XCO) race at 8 a.m. today, Malaysian time.
