The judges scored it 118-109, 118-109 and 114-113 all in favor of Pacquiao, who improved his record to 59 wins with 38 knockouts against six defeats and two draws. Vargas suffered his second loss in 29 fights.
The 37-year-old Pacquiao knocked down Vargas in the second round after connecting on a solid left straight and continued to dominate the succeeding rounds to become Pacquiao continued to dominate the 27-year-old Vargas en route to being the world’s first senator to win a boxing match.
