For more than 25 years, the police station in Tudela town, northern Cebu has been occupying a space in the municipal hall.

But not anymore.

The Tudela police will soon have their own building.

A three-story building will soon rise at the Public Market Area in Barangay Southern Poblacion in Tudela to house the police station.

The P4.8 million project broke ground at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, police director for Central Visayas, was guest speaker during the groundbreaking ceremony.

The building will be on a 400-square meter lot which was donated by the Tudela municipal government, said PO3 Fil Florentino of the Tudela police.

“It will be a three-story building with a standard size of a PNP building and with a design patterned after that of the Fuente Police Station in Cebu City.
For the longest time, our office was only attached to the municipal hall. The project will greatly augment our police operations,” Florentino said in a phone interview.
